For Interim Leaders: Join Our Network
If you have led an independent special school, a pupil referral unit or an alternative provision setting, you already know how much of the job never appears in the job description. We work with leaders who can walk into that and be useful in the first week.
What kind of interim work is available?
Interim headship, deputy and assistant headship, designated safeguarding lead cover, SEND leadership, and executive roles across groups. Most assignments run for one to two terms. Some are part time, some full time, and we will be straight with you about what each one involves before you meet anybody.
How does it work for you?
- We introduce you to the setting, and we tell them honestly what you have led and what you are strong at.
- The terms of the assignment are agreed and written down before anything is confirmed.
- We tell you the truth about the setting before you meet them, including the difficult parts.
- We stay in touch during the assignment, but we do not manage you. The setting does.
From our experience
The interims who are asked back are rarely the ones with the longest CVs. They are the ones who write a handover their successor can actually use, and who leave the systems in better shape than the day they arrived.
What we ask of you
- Substantive leadership experience in a specialist or alternative setting
- An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- Verifiable references, and no prohibition order or section 128 direction
- Availability you keep us honestly informed about
How do I join the network?
Send us your CV and a short note about the settings you have led and the kind of assignment you are looking for. If there is a fit we will add you to the network and contact you when something matches. We will not pass your details to a setting without asking you first.
