Meet Dan Tresman
Dan holds the NPQH and National SENCO Award qualifications. He is the Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Light Years Education, recently opening a new special school which received an ‘Outstanding’ grade at its first Ofsted inspection. He was the founding Headteacher of Light Years School until April 2024.
The school provides specialist provision for children with Autism, SEMH and associated SEND needs. Prior to this, Dan was the Headteacher at a residential special school, successfully improving the provision from an Ofsted rated ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Good’ across 20 months across both care and education in a combined Ofsted inspection, successfully improving outcomes for children and building sustainable change.
He has held various leadership positions in his 15 year career in educaiton, including Executive Headteacher, Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, DSL and SENCO roles. Dan specialises in rapid school improvement turn around projects, Independent School Standards audits, opening new provisions, curriculum development and SEF/SPD writing.
