Karen is an experienced and highly effective senior educational leader with over 30 years’ experience across secondary and further education, including substantial whole-school leadership as an academy principal, headteacher, deputy headteacher and head of school. She brings a proven track record of supporting schools to secure rapid and sustainable improvement, raise standards, strengthen teaching and learning, improve attendance and behaviour, and develop high-performing leadership teams.
In her current role, academic standards have improved significantly, with a 10% increase in GCSE outcomes making the school the most improved in West Sussex in 2024 to 2025.
As an experienced strategic leader with expertise in school improvement, organisational development, safeguarding, governance, curriculum design and change management, Karen is skilled at working alongside trust leaders, governors and senior leadership teams to identify priorities, implement effective improvement strategies and build capacity for long-term success. She is known for providing constructive challenge, practical solutions and coaching that empowers leaders and strengthens organisational performance, and remains passionate about helping schools create inclusive, ambitious cultures where students and staff thrive.
