Marie Corbett is an experienced primary education executive specialising in school improvement, interim executive leadership and providing additional leadership capacity to schools during periods of challenge and change. She brings more than 30 years’ experience in education, including over 25 years in senior leadership across Headteacher, Executive Headteacher, Executive Principal, Assistant Director and Regional Director roles. Most recently, Marie has provided executive leadership within a large two-site primary school during a period of significant organisational and leadership transition, strengthening leadership accountability, assessment and SEND oversight. Previously, as Assistant Director for Primary Education at Harris Federation, she provided strategic school improvement leadership across four London primary academies, working alongside Headteachers to sustain strong Ofsted outcomes and secure KS2 results significantly above national averages.

Earlier in her career, Marie led Invicta Primary School from Ofsted Satisfactory to Outstanding, subsequently expanding the school across two sites and opening a new primary provision in Deptford. She was appointed a National Leader of Education, with Invicta designated a National Support School, and has extensive experience supporting leaders and schools beyond her own organisation. Marie is particularly effective at rapidly diagnosing improvement priorities, strengthening leadership capacity and establishing clear systems for accountability and sustainable improvement. Her expertise includes schools causing concern, leadership transition, school review, Ofsted readiness, raising standards, assessment, safeguarding, SEND, organisational change and multi-school leadership. Her approach combines high professional challenge with practical, collaborative support, helping leaders identify priorities quickly, build confidence and capacity, and secure lasting improvement for pupils and their communities.
