Meet Marion Hampton

As a SEND Advice and Support Consultant , Marion supports Headteachers, Inclusion Managers and SENCOs in developing inclusive practice in their respective schools. She works closely with staff to encourage whole-school professional development in planning more effective teaching and learning strategies for pupils who have complex and demanding SEND. Reviewing the links between the assessment of individual children’s needs and planned teaching and learning informs and determines interventions to meet the needs of pupils with SEND.

Marion is uncompromising in the drive to improve the learning and lives of children and young people and raise standards, ensuring that all pupils with SEND make outstanding progress. Whether reviewing curriculum content or determining the specific needs of pupils with SEND, she always considers the full context before planning any observations or interventions. Listening to what pupils have to say is a powerful element in planning for them to be successful in their learning. Incorporating pupils’ known needs into curriculum planning is likely to ensure better outcomes for both their behaviour and their learning.

Marion’s consultancy work is conducted with integrity and honesty, modelling the professionalism and exemplary standards that are demanded of staff and pupils she works with, challenging and supporting with equal rigour.
