With extensive experience as an Executive Headteacher and CEO across both multi-academy trust and non-maintained residential special school settings, Richard brings a wealth of strategic leadership expertise to the SEND sector. His career spans a wide range of SEND and specialist provision, and he is particularly well placed to advise special schools on every aspect of school improvement, including in residential settings. This extends to business leadership, oversight and governance.
He specialises in securing whole-school improvement, with a particular focus on schools facing difficulty. His areas of expertise include trust leadership, financial management, governance, organisational turnaround and strategic SEND development. He provides high-impact, values-driven consultancy to schools, trusts and governing bodies that need rapid improvement, strategic transformation or longer-term planning.
